Big massive bunch sprint like we’re expecting for the first time. There are riders caught up behind here and Red Bull Bora Hans looking across. It’s not who we think it might be, is it? I don’t know. But that was just such a narrowing. You saw barriers on the right hand side, but also then the the metal barriers on the left, but lots of spare road. I don’t know why it was quite constructed like that. 73 75 both going down there. That is Mos and Py both hitting the ground for Red Bull Bora Handscrewer. This is Eignapool and it looks like he’s been involved as well. Neapool involved. Roglitch on the left doesn’t look like he’s hit the ground. Neither did Vlassov. They were waiting. In the meantime, 2.4Ks to go. We’re not going to have everybody involved, I’m afraid, for the third successive day. These are the issues. Me is the man down on the left hand side. Riders caught up on the right, includ 2.2ks to go. This is a big move from the riders from XDSA. Turnison’s going to be next to move up there on the right as we look at it. 2Ks to go. Roglitch in conversation with Even Neapool trying to console him. Pat on the back there. Even Neapool not happy. No wonder in the front for so long. As soon as you drift back into that mess and you get brought down, you’re better off going right to the back or staying right on the front. In the meantime, XDSA on the right hand side coming forward of Ballerini bowl little trek behind them trying to get reorganized up through the middle. This is the right turn we were talking about. It’s Fedorov who wins the battle for it. Kama as Robbie mentioned from Leburg is there behind trying to move up. You can see Sam Watson the British champion. Further back bottom left hand side of your picture in the blue and white European champion Medley. He’s looking, he’s elbowing, he’s shouldering. They go left to right. He’s right on the wheel right now of he should have Milan, but he’s drifting. Bahas is there. He was looking for that wheel of man. Media struggling to hold his position today. He’s getting bumped out here, but he is in a in a position if he gets a bit of open road. Still 1.1 km to go, but you have to make the effort and it’s looked like little in the good position here. A kilometer to go and Milan in a perfect position. If they can keep this going and deliver Milan with the problems other sprinters have, Milan, you know, it’s going to be a great Here comes Media on the right hand side and he’s found that wheel of Milan moving up as well, ready to go behind. You can see the lead out starts. They look behind. They’re trying to wait as late as possible. Now they go, it’s turns to try and lead out. Milan on the wheel from PP’s going to sprint for Red Bull if he can. They turn with 600 m to go. Picnic Posel find themselves in the right position. Little have messed it up little though. They have no men left to lead out. It’s Picnic trying to do it. Stewart is the man who’s going to sprint on the right hand side. Akaman’s there though as well for Israel premier. Oh, another big crash behind. Another big crash behind and it’s Milan now on the left hand side. Luna on the right. In fact, it’s P. But look at Milan go. Milan chief in front. Milan and Milan and Milan. Med. It is Milan and Italy’s jolly giant is the man. No. No. It looks like it might be Merlin. We think that it’s Mel. Wow. So, so close. He had the momentum by a bit. Milan looked as though he had it coming around the corner, but Mer coming around. Let’s see. Merier has made the claim. He looked like he’d edged in front coming to the line from overhead. Merier has fought his way back all the way onto the wheel of Jonathan Milan. There’s the crash. Oh, coffidus over and into the barriers along with the barrain rider is picnic pasta. Lundu starts to open up. Milan steps straight out and comes around and Merier the same. Comes straight out of the wheel of the Italian gets alongside and then edges in front. It’s a battle all the way. No, it’s Merid. Merier gets it and makes the claim. He knows. You know when you’ve won, you know when you’ve lost, even if it’s millimeters. And it’s Tim Merid who gets it. Ride us down. by the way were balerini for Xia Sastana. There was a rider from Gama I think as well hit the ground too. This is Milan and again Milan even when he’s fading he holds that sprint doesn’t he for so long but Med as you say hand up he wins and it looks as though it’s win number 52 at the tour to France down the years for Sudal Quickstep. Wow. Well, I think as Robbie said, you know, the riders, you can just uh see that you’ve just got it because he he could be he could look at Milan on his left hand side and you just can focus down on that and it looks like that. Yeah, Milan was going to win, but Mil just coming so fast. There it is. So, he gets it by the tire. There it is. Welled, well, he knew it is Media. It’s Milan. Probably Bow House. Another crazy sprint and so much to pick up. More crashes, more mayhem even have pulled down. We saw Merc in a bad way. The Lee hit the deck to Balerini. It’s the pedalling wounded I’m afraid today. And many others coming down there. We could see the guys on the front of that crash just, you know, coming into that uh final turn to the finish. And a lot of riders going down there at the rate they were going. Yeah. Again, a lot of damage done [Applause]

  1. The way the crashes are commentated is completely off. These crashes are more likely to happen as opposed to bad luck/ how could that happen! Riders will continue to break their bones because this is meant to be. So, there's been no chaos in this sprint. Don't use the misleading caption.

  3. Rob Hatch is such an awful commentator, puts too much effort into his cringey pronunciations and tries to over-dramatise everything while constantly interrupting the other commentators.

  4. Too little people are talking about how outrageous this finish was. With the introduction of SafeR, these finishes were supposed to be outlawed, but the ASO is continously setting up finishes that are more dangerous since the cities they finish in pay a shitload of money. Therefore risking the health and safety of riders. When will cyclists go on strike against the ASO?

  5. Everyone moaning about the crashes needs to chill out. This sport is not ballet. It happens. Enjoy the drama now before doped Pogacar reaches the mountains and wins by 7 minutes

  6. A rider is going to die in the Tour de France. It’s happened before. Read my book The Final Descent. And it will happen again. It’s just a matter of time. For cycling fans it’s sport but for ASO it’s a business. The Tour has always been a business. The organisers don’t care about rider safety. It’s outrageous.

  7. So tell me again that the UCI states with dry eyes that handlebar rule is for Safety when you can have stage finishes with road designs like these…
