I have made it to roscoff and I await my ferry home. It has generally been an amazing trip. The first 7 days I did with my mate and the next 8 I did alone, which made a nice contrast of atmosphere. The Netherlands started off incredibly windy (the type of wind and rain you have to laugh at or you’ll cry) but by the time we got to Middelburg it was sunny and clear. The Netherlands and Belgium were dreamy and the architecture was the most solid I’ve ever seen. No wind will blow those houses down.

Once we crossed the border into France the vibe changed instantly. We had to cycle on actual roads. The driving was slightly more erratic and we were surrounded by farmland, but once we linked up with eurovelo 4, it was far more scenic.

After leaving my mate in Le Havre to get the ferry home, I was alone and threw my self into that loneliness. I forced myself to make friends and to push myself in new ways. It is harder cycling alone but never did I think to give up, and I didn’t, which means I made it to Roscoff, proud!
