I’m off to lunch in Lewes and I plan on going cross country along the South Downs Way and see how I feel for the return. Unfortunately fatigue takes over and I really struggle coming back.

#South Downs #south downs way #lewes

[Music] so this is part one of my day on my bike I’m cycling to Ls I’m meeting someone for lunch I am running a little bit late plan is to go up onto the southdowns way and across and follow that all the way to Louis I just need to consider where I join it to try and maybe shorten my ride a little bit to get there on time I’ve got 43 minutes to get there I wanted to go left here and go up pick up the South’s way just past ditching Beacon but I have TI for time sorry I think I’m going to go this way this is a slightly longer way it’s got a nasty little climb no nasty too little climbs coming up but uh it’s a bit more picturesque and it does have that really nice descent I just came down oh yeah first garly climb coming up you can see up there behind me it’s short and very sharp yeah I felt that can’t hang around though haven’t got time secondy climb I’ve just come up that little bit which was quite hard but uh I’ve now got this long climb in front of me starts off quite Steep and just gets a little bit more gentle towards the top it’s quite long but when I get up to the very top I’ll be on the southdowns way [Applause] climbed down it was okay A bit long that is the southdowns way leis here I [Music] [Applause] [Applause] come well I’ve turned off to South DS right now and I am heading to well black cap is just over there to my left I’m heading down to Lewis pretty much downhill all away from here but I have got 7 minutes I don’t think I’m going to make it feeling fairly fatigued which is not a great sign I’m only 12K in big decision is going to be with which way do I come back from Lewis do I go back over the Downs do I come along the cycle Lane next to the main road there’s also the possibility that Jason’s out so maybe meet up with him let’s see how much energy I’ve got after I’ve had a nice [Music] lunch just texting to say I’m going to be a bit late should be there about qu of an hour I think I think it’s mostly downhill from [Music] here well this is part two of my ride getting back from Lewis to Brighton I had some high ideals of going back across the southdowns doing a similar ride as to what I did to get here trying to keep those miles and ascending up but I know sitting eating my lunch I was hanging just getting more and more tired as I sat there still really struggling with fatigue since the accident so I’m going the quickest way back which is going to take me along the main road along the a27 will be a cycle path but not the most exciting [Music] [Applause] ride [Applause] [Music] well I’m back in stammer Park done that horrible section next to the main road got to say that’s all quite disappointing I hoped I’d be up for doing the longer way home back across the South Towns but just just so tired it is 20 2 now and now I’m not resting every day but if I do rest it is around this time so maybe my body’s a little bit sinked into that and when I say I’m tired it’s not like Oh my legs are tired I got nothing left there on empty it’s my whole body I just need to sleep I’d like to move on from talking about the accident but it’s still there looming large and this is a reminder which I didn’t want I’ve still got some way to [Music] go I’ve only done 9k to get back just feel like I’m at the end of a 60k mountaining bike ride it’s a shame to end the video on a bit of a Down note but hey this is the reality of cycling and even before my accident some rides just weren’t great and you don’t enjoy it every time you’re on a bike that’s the reality of it but thank you for watching and I’ll see you on the next [Music] one
