Never been a serious rider but used to bike to work everyday and occasionally go on longer rides on the weekends. Looking to get back into biking after my bike was stolen a few years ago. I was thinking about getting something new but figured I would try Facebook Marketplace first and came across a pretty good looking bike in my size.
This was listed as “2017 Specialized Tarmac SL4” but from my research I don’t think that’s true. This bike has (I think) an Ultegra 6800 groupset and the owner also mentioned he replaced the original front derailleur with a new model back in 2023. Can anyone share what model this bike is? Did I get ripped off or is $500 fair-ish? Thanks!

The geometry looks like Roubaix. Did you inspect it? If true, it will say Roubaix on the frame, can’t really miss that.
I believe it’s a 2014? Tarmac SL4 for sure. But anyway, don’t sweat toouch about the exact model – the difference is mostly in the components used.
I’d say 500 is fair, not an insane deal but certainly no rip-off. Just from the photos it looks well taken care of and already has modern high performance tires. Enjoy your new bike!

2016 Tarmac Comp SL4. Matte black. Originally with Fulcrum wheels, currently has a mismatched set. Fine deal at $500 with this kit.
