Aero Cap Garmin Mount Installation

Hello you all,

I ordered the „Canyon AERO Top Cap Computer Mount“ in order to have a proper Garmin Mount on my Grail.
However when trying to mount it, I am struggling to get it proper into a smooth position, either the top part or the bottom part is sticking out. This will not change when putting in the screw.

Is this normal and if not how can I get it done correctly?
