After some incredible advice from this sub regarding my new bike purchase, I’m looking into getting myself an endurance bike. I spent time at Giant today and found a great fit in the 2025 Giant Defy Advanced 1 Size M/L (56?) for $4249AUD however I didn’t love the colour. I do however like the look of the BMC Roadmachine Four but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to see it in person or try it because there’s no stock locally, so I’d have to buy online with the possibility of a return being unlikely.
I have done some geometry comparisons between the Defy (which I know fits me well) and the RM and they appear to be quite similar, with the RM having slightly longer reach but plenty more stack height which I assume would only be a good thing? How confident should I be firstly with the price for the BMC and secondly with “blind” ordering given what I know?
I am curious also to hear if anyone has thoughts on me buying a 2024 Defy Advanced Pro 1 which comes with carbon wheels and a great colour for $5249 AUD ($3,416USD) – this would be nice because I can see and try it in person but it’s really near the top of my absolute max price range and I’m not sure if the price is that great. Would love to hear and all thoughts, thanks in advance!
