My cassette is Shimano Deore XT M8000 11-42 11s. I was sent a rear wheel with a xdr driver body which I believe is not correct. If this is the case is solving it as simple as switching the driver body over?

Yes. Just need to order a HG driver for shimano 11spd. XDR is SRAM. (Edited, my goof)
There’s usually an option to pick the driver body, did you select the Shimano/Sram 11 speed? If so yeah they sent the incorrect one.
To answer your question, yeah they’re interchangeable, however on the ZR1 hubs, the pawls can be somewhat tricky.
Yeah they do sell shimano freehubs for the sram wheels maybe they just thought ya know since youre switching over they could get you on their groupset too. But for real if you didnt order an xdr wheel they should make it right

EDIT: looking like I messed up and my cassette is on a hg free hub body… sram only has xd and xdr options for the 303 xplr S!? Or is there a way around this????
