I’ve been driving for a very long time. You’ve seen me drive in my fancy Jeep across the US. You’ve seen me drive throughout Sweden in my upgraded Prius and Rav 4. But after 27 long years, my driving privileges have been revoked. Here in Sweden, you are only allowed to drive for up to 1 year with licenses from Canada and the US. I’ve lived here for nearly four years. So, technically, I should have worked on getting my license as soon as I landed here in Sweden because getting a license is a four-part process. You have risk one and two, which are mandatory courses that you have to take in person. Then, a theory test and finally a driving test that one hopefully passes. That’s a lot of money and time and I did not prioritize that until last year where I completed two of the four levels. But finally the law caught up with me. I got pulled over. Questions were asked and I officially cannot drive here in Sweden. I was beyond devastated as you can imagine. How am I supposed to sit back when I have work, I have a daughter, and life is lifing? I started searching Facebook Marketplace to find my new mode of transportation, ebikes. I needed to get from point A to point B quickly. So, during my search, I actually began to hesitate buying used bikes because people steal bikes and they sell them online. And then an ad for an ebike from Fido caught my attention. We decided not to click on the power button as in like give us juice. Honestly, ebikes are a game changer. You do not need a car. Like I even have Oh, she’s sleeping. But like if you want to save on gas and insurance and have fun and get a workout and have like a friend, it’s like having a friend push you. When I lost my license, I was absolutely mortified. Can you imagine? I was pulled over. Oh, I was pulled over by a police officer on these Swedish streets with Saga in the back. And I felt so bad because I didn’t want Saga to have this negative association with police officers and myself. The daycare society is guilty for making police officers look bad. And so after that whole incident, we have been working to um say police officers are to serve and protect. They can help us. You can call them if you’re um in trouble. So we bought like this police car because she was crying. And the police officer was doing, oh my gosh, these Swedish police officers, they were so kind. I was the one who was at fault. I felt so bad. But we all felt bad because Saga was there. Like she looked so terrified. She She was She was terrified. Um but they were so kind. The officer gave his badge like the police not his actual badge badge, but like this thing that said police in to her and just to try to cheer her up. Oh, and this is what happens when you think you’re above the law. The interesting thing that I’ve I felt from this experience here in Sweden, they are very respectful and you don’t want to break the law. You want to be good citizens. Like, it’s not as common as other places I’ve lived in. Let’s just say that. And the amount of fear that people had when I shared my story with them that they don’t speed, they don’t do this, they don’t do that. And here I am. And I do a lot of things. And it’s very humbling to know that I fear more like if you’re going to fear the law of the land, the law of man, fear God. Don’t fear what man can do to your body. Fear what he can do to the body and the soul for eternity. Like fear that. So um it was very humbling. I uh even I know that regardless how much I try to be a good person, I will always fall short of the glory. And that is why there is one who paid the price. And it’s not through me. It’s through him and what he did on the cross that makes me clean and innocent because even me I’m still sinning. I sin even when I don’t know I’m sinning. And so yeah, just I’m so grateful for every experience I have. I feel like I’m in a season, a perpetual season at this point of being stripped. Things are being removed from me. I will share more coming soon. But in the suffering, in the heartache, being broken, I feel like I’m being broken. I’m so grateful that I have a relationship with God because when I turn to him with my brokenness, he fills me with so much love. And it’s the struggle bus is the winning bus. Like, put me on that bus. I will stay on this bus if that means I get to lean on you in my weakness because your strength is made perfect when I’m weak. And I’m I can’t do this. I can’t do this. So, I’m so grateful to have God in my life because when he when these things are being removed from me, it just gives him more room to do his work. Um, so thank you for being a godsend, Fido. Like honestly, I’m so grateful to to lose a license but gain freedom, fun, health. Like, I’ve been outside still able to enjoy, still able to drive to bike my daughter to and from daycare, still being able to do the work at our other home, still being able to to do work. It would be possible without any bike. With a bicycle is fine, but it’s just that that motor, that little bit of juice. It’s just like I can get things done quicker. This is where it’s at. I’ve been missing out hardcore. Ebikes. And when I was like researching which bike to get, I was on YouTube and so many people in New York have ebikes. And I saw like people buying Christmas trees and mounting it on their ebikes. Then you have like different kinds of cargos you can get. But it’s a world of opportunity and freedom. So look into it. C11 also comes with waterproofing designed for all weather. I can do all my necessary errands like bike saga to daycare to work. I biked all the way to Jackie’s vet which is very far and I did have to plan that out. In optimal conditions, yes, you can bike up to 104 km on the C11 Pro, but when you have a wagon, a child, a dog, that extra weight is going to cut down your range significantly depending on how much weight you have. So, it just requires playing it out. And what I did was I pulled over at Max’s dad’s home, which is the halfway point between me and the vet or Yeah. between me and the vet. And so I was there for a couple hours charging my battery and back on the road. My tips for these bikes include having the Allen key that comes with the bike as well as a screwdriver in your purse. Just have it on you. You just never know. And keep some cables just wrapped around the bike securely because when you’re shopping, it’s just easy to mount it onto your bike and you don’t have to worry about I don’t have enough room.
