[Music] Hi, thanks for joining me. Well, today I’m back in the Eden Valley starting off in Applebee and going to be heading out towards uh Shack. If I’m feeling good, going to head over to Horse Water and then um backfire allow the Castle. So, it’s going to be about a 50 mile ride. So, let’s go. Well, we’re out of the hustle and bustle of Applebee. My god, the traffic was horrendous. It’s a Saturday and it’s the um market day as well. So, of course, everybody’s out. So, I quickly got out of Applebe. Well, actually, not so quickly. I’m only um I’m only 5 and a half miles in and I’ve already I’ve done about eight hills. All pretty steep, I might add. And because today is about 50 mi, I’ve got a bit of range anxiety for the ebike. I’ve got no range extender on this this bike. I have on the gravel bike, but not on the road bike. And uh I was a bit worried about the climb. So I thought my aim would be to try and get as far as I can using no no E assist. In fact with the ebike turned off I thought maybe if I can get to shap and uh I can use e assist on the way back but the climbs defeated me. I got over the first three just and halfway up the fourth, but it was too much. And the heat as well, it’s not helping. When you’re as unfit as I am, you’re doing a good. We’re in a beautiful part of the Eden Valley now. I hope you stay with me for the whole ride. [Music] into the beautiful village of Minneo. This is one of my favorite spots of the Eden Valley down there where we’ve had very little rainfall. The river level is very low and I’m expecting horse water to be very low as well. Interesting to see. It’s far too hot for the shade, too. Look, finding shelter under the tree. People having a picnic or a barbecue. My god, this is a beast of a grime. Even with ears, I can stop halfway up. According to the Garmin, I’m nowhere near the top. Chap’s only 3 miles from here. Don’t know if the camera can pick that up, but that’s Crossfell over there. Highest points on the penins around now. That’s where we’re heading. Looking towards the Lake District. That was a beast of a climb. Still onwards downwards now, but most probably upwards. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Oh, we made it to Horse Water. does look very low. [Music] Right. Um, I was going to go down right to the end of horse water, but I’m running a bit behind. So, I’m going to turn around here with a bit of a climb coming up. So heading up towards now the castle. So I’ve been very conservative using the uh ES assist only on when I’ve had to on the hills and I’m down to just under 75% now. So hopefully I’ll be all right. [Music] I’m about 3 miles now from La Castle. My god, it’s it’s actually quite flat and I wouldn’t expect to use my ear assist here. My god, I’m coming into a really stiff headwind making it hell. So, quick break here. Push on as I say about just over 3 miles to allow the castle and get some uh energy. Yeah, I’m heading due north at the moment right into this wind. Nice and refreshing. Keeping you cool, but my god, it’s hard work. I’m just trying to enjoy the beautiful scenery and not think about how hard the ride is. [Music] Yeah, as I feared, what goes down must come up. So, we’re nearly at L now. Just got this climb to negotiate. [Music] [Music] There’s the other castle, guys. All exploring. [Music] Pop over there now for a cup of coffee and hopefully some uh some cake. [Music] Not the ideal surface for a road bike, but what a view of that cast you got, eh? Oh yeah. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Yeah guys, back on the A6. [Music] This is the M6 just over to my left and I can see Great Dunfell in the distance. Yeah, now the castle is a nice little place to visit. Get refreshments there. A mission into the castle is about £15, I believe. It’s just a nice spot, right? So, here’s the situation, guys. I’m in Great Strickland. I’ve got 10 and a half miles to go. Still got more than 50% battery. So, I think I should be okay. The worst of the climbing is over, but it is of course undulating from here. Chalk sharp climbs. So, it’s about 3 miles to Morland. Kind of heading east now. So, it’s a bit of a crosswind. We are in Morland, guys. Beautiful church there, isn’t it? So, just under 8 miles to go now. Right, let’s push on. [Music] [Music] What I mean guys by these short sharp climbs takes its toll. [Music] Now Morland heading now towards Bolton. [Music] So made it to Bolton now guys. It’s 4 and a half miles to go. Going to turn right here for Colby. says straight onto Applebe, but that’s via the A66. We’re going to go the back way. Still plenty of battery left. It’s only just gone below the 50% indicator, so can pretty much cruise back now. [Applause] There we are, guys. Back in Applebe. [Applause] Heat. Heat. All right, guys. So, that was uh that was the ride. Um cut it short, didn’t I? At horse water, so it was only 41 miles in the end, but um still a hard ride. Um got less less than 50% battery, but not uh not flat by any means. So yeah, bike’s done well. So going to get home now, have a shower, um, put my feet up and watch the FA Cup finals. So if you lasted this long, thank you very much for joining me. I hope you’ve enjoyed the video, and I’ll see you next time. Bye for now. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music]
