Bought a new bike a couple years back 160m, found it to big for trails but great for park and downs. Sold it and bought a 140m mirror bike… haven’t had a chance to ride it much then I moved to a new city. I’ve done some serious downs and shuttle laps and what I’ve learnt is I have a lot of confidence and I like going down and fast for a long time… The other thing I’ve learned is that owning a mullet and trying to ride pedal-y trails sucks. I’m not the best rider but I can handle myself but I’m also not the most technically inclined. The bike was too good of a build for the price point to say no to. I wonder if I’m just really out of shape or this bike requires me to be in incredible shape to climb.

Peddling to the feature was a brutal climb… pushing my bike up the hill was a breeze. Going down was steep but perfect

Bike: specialized status 140 traded from same bike 160.

The status is well known for being a pig to climb with. It’s probably one of the worst modern 140mm bikes you could ride uphill lol

Yea, the status kinda sucks to pedal. But it DOES rip when you’re not going up hill. They need to do away with trying to make it a trail bike and go back to it being a park bike. The old status’s were sick bikes (I know they have a park version)

I should have put this in my post.

My uncle is going to sell me his 2018 race stumpjumper 27.5 full carbon with a rock shock lyric for $800 for trails is that a good go?
