I just finished up a conversion from drop bar to flat bar on my single speed Cross Check. The X-Check has a pretty long top tube and a shortish steerer tube, so I used a short 60mm Nitto MT-32 stem and a Nitto B802 HT riser bar to compensate. The Crane bell adds a touch of class, and Jack the Bike Rack gives me some work commuting versatility.

We recently had a new band stage in our village center dedicated a beloved local resident who was killed in a crosswalk while trying to cross the street. They handed our prayer cards at the ceremony, so I’m using mine in my spokes to give a bit of extra protection.

Oh yeah. I found a cool silicone fidget toy on the side of the road on my way home. I’ll clean it up and give it to my daughter to play with.

  1. Looks great! I love a cress check, just an overall happy medium frame that can do a little of everything! What bars are those?

  2. Great looking build. I’ve loved seeing your old Rockhopper posts on IG. Glad to see you on here too 🤙
