My very fancy set up, just finished using it for 9 day bike 'touring' and possibly at some stage for bikepacking. Didn't miss a beat, included mix of bikeways, gravel and bush trails.
Bike cost 90 euro used + panniers (2 x 8 euro new) + two handlebar bags (total 8 euro new) + lock (4 euro new) + pump/tube (5 euro new) + the rear rack at a disproportionate 50 euro. Grand total ~175 euro…
Observations: rear panniers need straps to keep them closed enough for rain, in general the gear has questionable rain resistance but it held up well in heavy downpour. It's all from a 'cheap' shop in The Netherlands called Action except the rear pannier (XMC or something). Was surprised how often I used the little plastic 'hoods' on the flatbar (I hate drops).
