Go with any other frame material unless you can get a modern cf frame. For a beginner my rec is to go with the same components but steel or aluminum frame. They are much more durable and just as light.
The best carbon frame doesn’t provide a noticeable advantage unless your kitted out or going for records, not really required for a beginner.
This one is lugged. Where the tubes meet there is metal (aluminum) lugs. You don’t really see the “carbon advantage” with a frame like this, same can be said for early full cf frames (before directional layups)
However the trek OCLVs look rad. Reminds me of early carbon fibre aero struts for open wheel cars
