I bought this yesterday, but I just noticed there is this little dent on both rims in almost the exact same spot on the front and rear. How did this happen and is it a cause for concern?
Yes, that’s a cause for concern. It may be holding air now but it’s possible your next tire will have difficulty sealing.
Did you buy this new and/or take it for a ride after getting it?

This will happen when the wheels come into contact with things on the trail at a high enough rate of force to dent the aluminum, like a loose rock or whatever.
You can leave it be and in all likelihood you’ll be fine. When you’re ready for new tires, or if you just want to, you can watch one of the many YouTube videos on how to flatten those dents back out without damaging the wheel further.

I have a similar dent on my Giant AM alloy wheels. It’s absolutely fine.

As long as it holds sealant/air, keep riding

Just leave it. When it no longer hols air you have to put in a tube but most aluminium rims can take a beating. Next time you change the tire check the inside for deformations. It can be an issue when you see small cracks in the bed of the rim

It wouldn’t use it for DH, but would probably push it in local trails till it popped

I’d still ride it with tubes. I would not ride it tubeless anymore

As others have said, getting a seal will be tough. It’s not catastrophic.

I think you’re still good.

My last alloy rear rim had 4 that were much larger than this. You can slightly bend it back with an adjustable wrench if you want to or just keep sending it until it stops holding air.

Not if you don’t look at it. Lol
