Pretty damn stoked on how this turned out! Took me around 3 hours or so. I don’t know why anyone would pay $125 in labor for a shop to do it, it was genuinely really easy. Just a little tedious.

Hope pro 5 laced to a dtswiss fr541, total cost all in, around $300 with brand new parts. The wheel is dead true, but my crappy maxxis tire isn’t, lol.

  1. Congrats and nice work… I’ve built hundreds of wheels and the sense of accomplishment never gets old

  2. What tools did you use? Curious as I’d like to start building my own wheels.

  3. For half a second I thought you mounted your derailleur upside down and my brain immediately thought ‘hey that’s a good way to protect it from rocks and branches’.
