That’s bad for chain rash from a dropped chain, but it’s the most built up area of the bike, but it’s also just a photo on the Internet so take it to a reputable shop to assess it, and ask if they know any good carbon repairers.

  2. Damage to the carbon weave looks visible. I wouldn’t ride that.

Someone will be along in a minute to tell you it will be fine because the carbon is significantly thicker around the bottom bracket but I’d get that checked out by someone who knows what they are looking at.

It can be repaired by a professional carbon frame repairer but it’s not going to be cheap.

Definitely repairable. I paid $400 to have a frame repaired with similar damage

Get it repaired by a reputable carbon repair shop. Then get a roll of helicopter tape and do up the frame. I’d readjust your front derailleur and get a chain retention device such as a “third eye chain catcher” to help prevent that issue from happening again.

  5. It seems it’s repairable, so that’s what I’ll do. I’ll stay off of it until then. Appreciate everyone’s input.
