You spotting the pedals okay? Might switch out for some white or yellow or other bright color so you can spot them better.
Also, it looks like you’re looking up from your spot a split second too early.

Not something I can do yet but know some people choose to safety land on cranks or bottom bracket, just a thought.

Well I can’t say you aren’t committing lol
Doing footjam tailwhips and then popping back into the pedals helped me a lot with that stomping motion when I was younger. But at the time I also had issues with committing to the Aired tailwhip.
Oh also, I started mounting my bike strictly by jumping over the frame (while my hands are on the bars of course) and stomping down both feet at the same time on my pedals. This helped a lot with my confidence, it’s a simple move that I still use for my gravel bike.
