I posted in here a week or so ago asking for some advice on how to get my 10mm axle to fit my 9mm front drop outs. I got a lot of good comments and figured I’d share my solution.

I ended up converting the solid axle to an axle and skewer using parts from the original wheel front wheel.

I hammered out the solid axle from my from new wheel and replaced the 10mm center diameter bearings with new 9mm center diameter bearings to match the axle diameter. I was then able to insert the front axle and skewer from the original wheel securely and without any play. I reused the original cone nuts as well to keep it all in place.

It took about an hour but it was well worth it to not have to file out my front dropouts. It’s a dream to ride!
