It will be checked luggage and they will do it for you. You won’t switch from international to domestic on a layover in Iceland on a trip form Turkey to Canada, so you won’t need to take the bike through customs.
Anyway, the size of your luggage really makes no difference here anyway.

I have no real advice for you other than I would get off in Iceland and go ride 😁

if its bought on a single ticket, airport will handle the luggage.

I had a 30 min transfer (inbound flight was late) at Keflavik w/2 bike boxes and while WE missed our flight the bikes didn’t. It’s not a large airport. You’ll be fine. Have fun!

I flew from Newark, NJ to Stockholm, Sweden this past May on Icelandair with a layover in KEF. I had two bikes, a set of skis, and 4 other suitcases as luggage with a VERY short layover. It was supposed to be about 90 minutes but my flight was ~90 minutes delayed so I had about 10 minutes until departure from when I stepped off the plane. So with maybe 20 minutes total for baggage handlers to do their thing, all of my bags made it no problem! Both bikes came out unharmed and arrived right on time at my final destination. Far faster than shipping all of my stuff for my move.

Luggage is luggage. Doesn’t really matter that it’s a bike.

I’ve been lucky almost every time, unless things get super delayed, cancelled or switched on you in which case it could be a couple days. I’ve had bikes make it on transfers as short as 20 minutes after over an hour delay on a 1:30 layover, but I also would not count on that being the case normally 😅
