Kop Hill, near Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire is arguably one of the most challenging hills to cycle up. It’s long and gets steeper towards the top. Even on an e-bike it’s a bit of a struggle, but it’s all over within a couple of minutes. After getting to the top, I go to Whiteleaf Cross and then head back home via Marsh and Bishopstone where I fly the drone over the fields, looking for cropmarks, and I find some beauties!
[Music] hello everyone this morning I’m going to tackle one of the nastiest hills in Bucks which is Cop Hill this one is about a kilometer long I would say and uh it’s just behind um Princess Risbbor uh it’s a sort of gift that keeps giving this one you get off to a level and then it gets steeper again um I’ve not done this before on this bike um but I have tackled this hill in the past but mostly coming down it going up it is a nightmare so let’s see how I get on shall we this is going to be interesting so I’m in EMTB mode pretty low gear this bottom bit’s all right it’s just uh when it gets steeper up here then it gets interesting oh come on right so that’s the first steep bit it sort of levels off a bit and then there’s a bit more up here oh really starting to feel it now the worst thing is I know what’s coming come on come on son you can do this i think I think that’s it yes brush hill it’s that last bit oh man well that one is a real bastard i said it was uh difficult didn’t take me long did it maybe a minute or so this is as I said it’s like in three stages you get that first bit sort of gets you warmed up a bit and then the second bit uh is a bit of a hill and then this final bit just here oh boy you know you’re already panting by that bit and then uh you got another one to come but I did it anyway glad of that right so the good thing about these hills is the view from them so I’m going to see if I can get out on Brush Hill and have a look at the view if not I’ll go to um White Leaf Cross which is just across there somewhere uh I’m planning to go there anyway cuz I’m going to cut through on the way back one of the best views in bugs so this is not Brush Hill this is White Leaf white Leaf Cross it’s just below me down there and you can see for miles there amazing view i can’t remember ever cycling down here just uh walking definitely so this is me making my way down White Leaf Hill and on the way to Cadston yesterday I was watching those guys up at uh up in the Alps doing the mega avalanche descent in the snow and then going like 100 kilometers an hour and speeding through here like at 60 i couldn’t do that god you know what this is a bit bloody steep for me i know I’m a wimp this track is at the back of White Leaf Golf Club jesus have faith that’s all right this is what ebikes are for this sort of terrain there’s the pub and this is the plow at Cadston back down to Kimble now and I’m going back via marsh come back on the opposite road whoops someone weren’t looking i did it amicably right marsh Lane Marsh Road sorry been a while since I’ve been down here that’s the railway on my right so I’ve just gone under the bridge railway cottages bit reminiscent of Broton see this is the way I would normally go home because of uh Marsh Lane but uh as we know it’s been severed by HS2 should I yield or I’ll yield i don’t mind i got a KV license plate so if I ever drove a car that’s what I’d be looking for and personalized them wouldn’t it kv71 maybe kv71 A L that probably be mine quite a long road this one oh there we go marsh so you might see behind me there the old Prince of Wales pub is that still going i don’t think so stupid stop today I uh I left my water bottle at home took it off just before I left didn’t put it back on the bike did I what talk about a senior moment good job i’m not going far today it’s a few miles it’s probably not even 15 now is it 14 I’ve done yeah so it’s just a easy going ride some nice houses in there down this way [Applause] so why am I coming back this way well remember a few weeks ago when I did um HS2 uh between T Valley Video the railway line and uh I did a bit of flying over the fields on the way back and I saw some crop marks so I thought let’s give that a go today cuz it’s been pretty dry recently might be able to see some more so I’m going to have another look [Music] well that was interesting wasn’t it i really enjoyed that seeing all that uh appear like that i didn’t think there would be much to see but yeah clearly visible weren’t it um very interesting prehistoric landscape a total different alignment oh forgive the sweat in me eyes oh yeah total different alignment to um the present day fields you know so you can tell it’s uh prehistoric anyway I know it’s a bit unusual today i just wanted to conquer Copill and uh just have a a nice uh sort of leisurely ride around after that and it was So uh I’m going to tood off home now and uh have some lunch um my next one will be HS2 i think I’ll be going up to Calbertt the weekend so uh join me next time for another adventure see you then

Well done! I've seen other people cycling up it and it looks awful…
The annual charity Hill Climb every September is excellent but most have engines……
Well done, I have done it on my road bike a few times, it's a healthy climb π
Well done π When i was much younger and MUCH fitter that was my training hill. My nemesis was going up Whiteleaf Hill. Just going down that was deadly, and going up my heart rate monitor hit 210, I nearly exploded π
Youβre bike is electric, is it not.
