i caught the fixed gear bug again and decided to convert my 90's peugeot electra road bike to fixed gear.
i reused and refurbed the handlebars & front brake lever from an old hybrid that was rotting away in my parents' back garden. then reused & refurbed the crankset from my first fixed gear bike which had seen better days. kept the original front brake caliper.
got the rear wheel for free, the bearings just needed a service and a truing and it's now smooth and sweet. kept the original mavic front wheel and got it trued as well.
in terms of what i bought for the build: handlebar grips, bmx pedals, cinelli straps (second hand), miche pista 17t rear cog, blb beefy lockring, a new chain, and brake cable.
other than that, just have my comfy selle saddle and a new vintage style bell to finish.
really happy with how it turned out 🙂
taking into account buying parts and a couple of service items, total cost to me was around €140.
running a 48×17 ratio at the moment.
also a bonus pic of how the bike used to look.
