Bike I built to ride around with my baby son. An old ‘87 Gary fisher hookooekoo. Bought it all original minus the wheels for $80. Tore it down to the bare frame and knocked a bunch of rust and grime off and put it back together upgrading a few things along the way.

I changed the shitty stock shifters for modern micro shift trigger shifters. Ideally I’d have run some friction thumbies, but these ones were <$8 wholesale and I couldn’t resist that. Changed the grips to pink esi silicone ones, and the levers to día compe ss6. Added a double kickstand, and front wheel stabilizer. Swapped the old saddle for a prologo one. Changed the old crusty tires for some new maxxis holy rollers.

Unfortunately, it came stock w a rear u brake, and with both the upgraded tires, and the kickstand, I couldn’t run the brake anymore. Until I can have canti studs brazed on, this thing is front brake only.

  1. Looks like a great ride! How will you transport your son? I’ve been using a bike trailer for my toddler and baby, and love it!

Rad dad. I love those dual-leg kickstands, throw some racks on it to take full advantage of it.
