Hey folks — hoping the hive mind can help!
One of the hooks on my bike pannier broke, and I’m trying to figure out a solid repair or DIY alternative to keep it secure on my rear rack. I’ve attached a few photos to show the damage and how the bag normally mounts.(Bechel 26L panniers)
Has anyone here successfully repaired a pannier hook system before? Or used extra hardware (bungee cords, clips, zip ties, etc.) to keep a pannier bag attached more securely?
Ideally, I’d like something that holds tight over bumps but is also easy to take on/off for commuting.
Would love to hear what’s worked for you — links, hacks, hardware suggestions all appreciated!
(Pics attached — thanks in advance!)

You can usually just buy new mounting hooks. Those look like a pretty standard setup, so ql2.1 might work. [here, but in CAD](https://www.altitude-sports.com/products/ortlieb-ql2-1-mounting-hooks-16mm-with-handle-llll-orb-ore212)
Contact the manufacturer or get some that you can return if they dont fit.
See thats why Ortlieb is so good. They offer a whole lot of replacement parts.

I would call around to local bike shops. If they sell ortlieb bags a lot of them should also carry those replacement hooks.
How did yours break by the way? They are really sturdy polycarbonate and I’ve never seen one snap in half like that.
