For this type of riding a full suspension is far superior to a hardtail and more fun overall. If you’re like me and live in some of the most boring miles of cross country around then a rigid bike is plenty to rip and not even feel beat up at all. To each their own of course, maybe some day I’ll get a really lightweight full suspension just to have around for really big days with lots of downhill places far from my home.
Must be nice to have this stuff nearby and you’re able to check it out, I’ve come to realize so much of our bikes reflects what we ultimately ride the most.

Big deal, get an e bike and you can beat people going uphill too. It sure doesn’t make you a better rider. Riding rigid on tough downhills requires skill and stamina, that’s more important to a lot of folks who don’t want to tech up and cos play like we’re going to win a trophy.

They’re pretty great for a lot of stuff, so long as it isn’t continuous chunder. It gets pretty old getting rattled around and slowed down to a crawl compared to a full suspension bike on rougher trails.

me neither. I am in my 50s and find my full suspension all day comfortable.

I recommend hardtails for everyone else’s spine. But for me, I’ve only got one and am gonna protect it and my future years of riding.
