    They look fine. Hesitation changing gear wouldn’t indicate a worn chainring. Check the cable tension on your front derailleur first.

    It’s pretty hard to tell a worn chainring by eye, it certainly doesn’t scream worn out to me. Slow shifting is usually something else, a worn chainring would be more likely to cause slipping, dropping, or chain suck.

    First thing I’d check is the shift cable, if that’s damaged or dirty it’ll mess with shifting in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways.

  3. Those weird tooth profiles are by design, in order to either let the chain come off the ring when shifting off the big ring or to pick it up when coming on the ring. They look like the teeth are chipped or worn weirdly but they were like that when new. Chainring wear is usually wearing away the leading edge to make a shark tooth shape, or wearing down the valleys so they are much longer to fit a stretched chain.

    Look at the front side of each tooth, this is where most of the force is concentrated when pedaling. When the angle starts to become more shallow it is getting pretty worn. Also the tips of the teeth start to get pretty sharp or even flattened out and shallower from tip to trough than they ought to be.

    Turn your bike right side up, it’ll shift a lot better that way. (Sorry, I couldn’t pass that up ;-)) A rusty chain, even if it’s not “stretched,” will shift inconsistently. Check YouTube for advice on removing rust from chains. I’ve used the vinegar method with surprisingly good results, you just have to be super vigilant about rinsing, drying, and re-lubing or waxing. Even if the rusty chain isn’t the root of the shifting issues, the clean and well-lubed chain will be so much nicer to ride once you do fix the shifting.

    The chainring you’re using doesn’t have the ramps to help the chain go up. The chainring needs to be replaced when the teeth are sharp like knives. The chain is rusted, replace it and clean the bike. A clean drivetrain will shift significantly better

    It’s an FSA chainring. So yes, burnt it with fire. Won’t last long regardless. May as well change it now.
