Hello everyone.

For some time now, I’ve been having some problems on my MTB transmission (Shimano Deore 11 speed).

The issue is visible in the uploaded videos. At the beginning of the first video, you can hear a loud clicking sound, which seems to be caused by the chain skipping off the derailleur jockey wheels. This sound persists as I shift into the larger cogs. Then, as the chain reaches the third lowest gear, the inner plate of the derailleur cage starts to rub against the cassette, creating a strong rubbing noise. In the second video you can see the whole shifting process from a different angle. In the third one, you can see the cage rubbing against the gear up close.

Does anyone have an idea about what can cause this? I suspect a bent derailleur or hanger but I am not sure how to check this. Any other thoughts?

Sorry for my lousy video editing skills.

Thank you.

I tried tuning derailleurs upside down for a while when I started biking but I realized the shifting just isn’t the same. So if you get all the screws set appropriately you can just do fine tuning with the barrel adjuster while riding around.

As for the clicking, if you spin the cranks very slowly you can usually see the individual chain links snagging that are making the sound.

This specifically sounds like the b tension screw is not correct.
