Mysterious elevated chainstay mtb, it’s suspected to be something of high quality because of the internal routing and external gussets. It’s got oval chainrings, the tube by sakae stem, titanium bar and some anodised parts including brake levers with an extra flange? I don’t know what it’s called nor how to describe it but it allows you to use the brakes when your hands are on the bar ends.
The decal seems to say nothing from my perspective but someone may find a word I’ve missed. The bike has no serial numbers or badges or intents of any sort for identification either. It’s suspected to be a nishiki or something similar from the Japan made parts and extra tubing on the rear triangle to make that “A” shape. Headset isn’t branded either. Any leads or identification are good, this bike is driving me and my uncle mad!

This is a post for r/xbiking someone will appreciate it there!

    Cool bike!

  2. I know of loads of good lugged steel bikes and I know a fair few good e stay bikes but this is the first lugged e stay bike I have ever seen. I did initially also think of the Nishiki Alien but although early models had a lug at the junction of the seat tube/top tube and afterburners the rest of the frame was welded not lugged.
