Best Cycle ride in Belgium. Zeebrugge to Brugge to Ieper (Ypres), then on to Tyne Cot cemetery at Passendaele. A great bike ride, but a very moving event. We witnessed the nightly ceremony of the Last Post at The Menin Gate.
[Music] we went overnight from hole to zebra on the piano fairy [Music] going out the docks is quite bleak it’s not very picturesque but it has to be done back towards the Blankenburg knock heist main road [Applause] turn left going north of the coast to maintain to reach the canal which then takes you down to Bruges [Applause] telling Lanza the canal is lovely gossip and cyclists encouraged really good bike paths [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and going into the outskirts of Bruges there’s lots and lots to see and you have to be pretty careful careful not to lose your fillings on the cobbled streets lots of cobbles I don’t know why gee beside no entry oh I accept Ferb bicycles okay but of course as you get near the center of the tap there are fewer of your cars and more and more pedestrians and people stop looking out – where they going [Applause] the main square is lovely but it’s not pedestrianised but people think that it is so unfortunately you have to be so careful on a bike we found this underground bike park which was really brilliant we went out for a couple of hours in Bruges for a look around and when we came back we discovered that on the way out of the bike park there was this little conveyor you roll your wheel onto the conveyor hold the brake on and it takes you up the slope you don’t even have to push it out through the solid oak doors of a bike park this is after all Belgium more cobbles the suburbs and just to show how back provision in Belgium is a long-established thing these cycle underpasses are really quite ancient now and showing their age [Music] oops teddy miss smile iam positive this is castle Castile beg your pardon d’aagh trike and there’s usually a wedding on on a Saturday morning there was last time we came by there was this bonding good place to stop for a picnic though and he carry on heading further south lovely sunny day we seem to be always blessed with sunny days this was to August I think we went in July so it will have been sunny [Music] [Music] then we pedal alongside the e Pearlie canal which is northwest of eeper and followed it down all the way into the town center what along the walls from our accommodation to the Menin Gate just in time for the evening ceremony which happens every night at 8 o’clock sharp marching bands and Bugler’s and various military military escort groups all over Europe put the name downs to come and lead the parade and come and play the last post in the Menin Gate we came back later in the evening and had a look round when all the crowds had gone the thousands and thousands $54,000 in fact names of British and Commonwealth soldiers the menin gate was actually too small and then finished it to get all of the names that there needed to get on it in the morning we’ve headed out through a portal in the city wall cross the moat up outside the wall and we came across the Menin Gate again on the outside of the town before going out cross country towards our next stop every end and turn there seems to be yet another regimental Memorial National Memorial from all the thousands of people who died [Music] we came to Passchendaele [Music] this is tyne cot cemetery difficult to be upbeat about this sort of thing tine cut was named by the Northumbrian brigade because the the german pillboxes looks so much like tainted cottages lake there are three pill boxes in the tyne cot cemetery German pill boxes carried on to our next destination then which was Ghent but unfortunately I fell off my bike and sort of lost interest in each other so thanks for watching hope you help

I do miss the old Felixstowe to Zeebrugge ferry crossing; that was only a 10 mile ride from mine.
Knokke isn't pronounced like knock, which starts with a N. Knokke starts with a K.
Did your group have travel insurance for these same jaunts. Trying to persuade dad to go this year but he is worried that it would cost to much for insurance
