Just did some maintenance on my Torpedo Pentasport. I have had trouble in the past when trying to adjust the shifter, now I can’t seem to get the hang of it. I will show the problem with some pictures.

Picture 1: This is with the shifter in fourth gear and fully functional, slight tension on the chain.

Picture 2: This is with the shifter in second gear and adjusted to pull all of the chain out and engage the second gear.

Picture 3: This is with the shifter in fourth gear again but adjusted so second and first gear works. But now I can't engage the fourth gear. You can clearly see that the chain has moved way too little, if even at all

How can I fix this problem? Is there any way I can adjust the shifter handle and make it pull more in second gear or pull less in fourth gear? The hub is freshly maintained and cleaned so there should not be any problems from the hub. The wire is running freely and is not damaged. Is this explained well?

Go to biggest gear, make sure this little chain is on the edge of tension (make it loose and add tention untill all slack is out but theres only the slightest tension on it.
Add some WD 40 on the little chain while you at it
