first we have some breaking news at least one person is dead and several injured after a reported car ramming in Germany Reports say a car rammed into a crowd now a major police operation’s underway in Manheim City Center ABC’s Lama Hassan joins me with the latest on that uh Lama what do we know about this investigation so far yeah hey Diane so we understand from German police that a man driving a car plowed into a crowd of people earlier today and as you say so far we understand that at least one person has died several injuries have been reported uh we understand that eight trauma teams have been made available both for adults and children police have asked the public to stay away from the area downtown warning them uh to stay indoors uh and according to the BBC the German police have set a warning level of extreme danger Diane llama police are reportedly asking the public not to share video of the car ramming what do you make of that and any more information on the suspect here yeah Dian so they’re probably asking the public not to share videos uh because an urgent investigation is currently underway and so until they can determine what the motivation is ETC they probably don’t want the material posted online um now in terms of the suspect we don’t know a whole lot at the moment just what we are hearing from German police which is that a suspect has been identified and arrested we don’t know the motive yet we don’t know the motivation we don’t have any other information on the suspect and of course you’ll recall that this comes with tensions already high in Germany just a few weeks ago a similar attack in Munich uh you’ll remember that an Afghan Asylum Seeker drove a car into people injuring dozens as well as killing a mother and her 2-year-old daughter now officials say that he appeared to have a religious uh motivation but going back to the attack today all we are getting and all we are hearing right now Diane is uh preliminary information in terms of the investigation Diane Lama Hassan thank you
