I am brand new to Mtn Biking, (day 2) and I live in the PNW. Right after this video, I crashed pretty hard and went OTB on a jump. My jumping technique sucks and I am looking for advice and pointers to correct it, as I don't want any bad habits. Every time I'm about to jump, my front wheel goes unweighted, and I go off sideways and lose balance, or endo.

Any advice will help.

Thanks!

New to Mtn Biking and need some help.

Day 3, don’t jump. Other skills required first. Learn about your connection to the bike, body position ,weight shifts, lean angles, bikes connection to the ground, and braking.
Start with the fundamentals. Then go jump

Are you using clipless pedals? If you are, I suggest that you get a set of flat pedals to learn on. Makes your life easier, and teaches you proper technique.

I am familiar with this place. Get a good handle on the smaller jumps in the jump section first. Hood River has some good jumps to practice on in the family man section. also white salmon bike park. Best place to progress on jumps in my opinion is Duthie hill if you feel like taking a drive. There are a lot skills on mountain biking and have a good time progressing

  4. Look for a lesson with coach mtb Robbie. He has a ton of different options, private or group, has been coaching for a long time, has airbags and has options at Sandy Ridge, Wilsonville, and sometimes Gateway.
