I rode from Scranton PA to Portland OR in 32 consecutive days. I left April 28th and arrived May 30th. I only paid for 1 night of accommodation. The entire trip cost me less than $1,100.
I built the bike from an old Long Haul Trucker frame a few weeks before with the most basic parts I could find. No mechanicals.
I had no planned route, just Portland as my final destination. I used Komoot in the mornings to plan the route.

Outstanding! Good for you. How many miles did it end up being? I’m assuming you’re averaging more than 100 mi a day?
Outstanding. Inspiring. Hats off to you, sir.
That’s amazing man, I hope you had a fun time and made lots of great memories. I’ve only been on the road that long once some years ago but I remember how weird it was getting back into regular life. Hopefully you’re dealing with that well. It’s impressive that you camped that much. Did you have a shower bag in your gear?
Got any particularly memorable bits or sketchy moments to share?
Awesome ride. Well done
Perfect build on the bike. Another well done
I thought that covered bridge was in east PA. I didn’t make it to any the last time I was there but there are a bunch within 100 miles of my sister’s place.
Nice fuckin job, dude
This is so rad! If I may ask, because I’m looking into bikepacking but never have done it in the past, what’s a piece of gear or item you absolutely recommend other people to have in their kit?
I’m way too much of a planner to ride like that. I could learn to be a bit more spontaneous.
Amazing ride. How many sets of break pads you go through?
Huge congratulations! Great to see rim brakes and steel bike!!
What did you eat throughout your ride and how much rest do you get per night? Thinking to do something similar but in Europe.
