Skarper announced its electric bike system in June 2022, showcasing a design that is attached via a disc brake rotor to electrify a regular bike – and now it’s going into production.

Skarper’s system, which comprises of a proprietary disc brake rotor and chainstay-mounted motor unit, intends to simplify the process of fitting an electric bike conversion kit.

  1. £1,400 ! And like 99% of ebikes and escooters it's manufactured in China for a fraction of the selling price.
And you'll have to use a centre-mounted prop-stand and your heel will chaff against it unless you pedal with your heel not your toes or the front of your foot.
And these kinda direct ebike drives always use a lot of highly-stressed gearing cogs and parts which need lubricating and which have to be improved from one generation to the next. Think Bosch and Banggood for instance…

  2. Weak advertising… no info, no price, no charge time/run time, no top speed, no idea how its controlled, and you made very sure to not film the important side and how it actually attaches.
1/10 video review. Dont even know its NAME

  3. Trust me ,you all are better off just buying an e bike as this piece of shit cost an arm and leg as the same goes how many ppl have you ever seen with this and it's been advertised about a couple or more yrs ago?!

  4. Great…so it fits any road bike with disc brakes and a thin chainstay. Now all it needs is to come with a disc brake wheel, clampon brake caliper, and a hacksaw to cut the chainstay of a regular bike so it fits. British ingenuity at its worst.

  5. Wished they made life easier for people like myself that could make this just wish it was 72 volts to where you could keep the bike that you have make it go faster I like the idea of it but some one would make lots of money if it would go faster that be the day save lots of headaches easier to install, just wish that would happen

  6. Something actually confused me. How does this thing turns any normal bike into electric bike when the bike itself doesn't have a motor and these things makes it run at less this thing has a more to build into it. All. It does is to put on a bike and makes it works straight away and they even more difficult part. How does we replace on any type of bike? They are some bikes foldable that doesn't have more to operate it. I mean it does looks useful, but it must cause a lot of money.
