Hi all!
I recently changed my old xtr brakes (20years old lol) because i had a leak in the caliper to a set of xt m8100. Unfortunately after mounting, my old deore lx shifters didnt fit with the new levers (see pic).
I have a 3×9 system now and don't plan on switching to 1×10 right now but i need to do something about the shifters. I heard that my only option for 3×9 shimano would be the m2010 or m3100, but since there is still a gear window i am worrying that it could get in the way of the xt lever. Can someone confirm me if it is going to be ok if i mixed thoses 2?
Sorry for the poor english…

Just remove the gear indicator window from the shifter. You will then be able to mount the shifter in between the brake lever clamp and brace. It’s still a bit fiddly to get in there as they’re not designed to fit together but it should be doable – you will have to open the brake lever clamp all the way and sort of thread it on around the shifter clamp band.
