Low quality video because I filmed in portrait mode and cropped in post. Lesson learned! But hey at least I made something.

Hello guys. Join me today for a little
adventure from Zittau to Dresden on my roadbike. So, our first checkpoint would be
the Herrenwalde border crossing. So, this is where I crossed the border
from Germany into the Czech Republic. There’s no border controls, you
just ride across the border. And there i’m having a little
snack after 40 minutes of riding. And here we are entering a forested area.
With beautiful roads in the Czech Republic. So to get here you need to go through small
towns which I didn’t record because you are sharing the road with cars.
And here’s my destination in the Czech Republic which is the Narodni
National Park. It’s a very beautiful place. And yeah.
It was a nice sunny day and it was also the summer solstice so I met a lot of other cyclists
who are in the national park enjoying the sun. This is my first stop of the day which
is at a wooden statue of soldier. And the sign basically says that in the
olden days, the soldiers used to use this path to get through the mountains.
Basically this is a mountainous area and if you come from the other direction
you will have to do a lot of climbs. And this is my second stop in the
national park which is a miner’s hut. It was used for a filming of a movie.
But I cannot be sure because the sign is written mostly in Czech and I didn’t
read everything so please correct me if I am wrong. It’s a cool place though.
1 interesting fact about this national park is that it’s also an archeological
site so this is one of the places where the prehistoric men and women used to eat
after doing their hunting of the mammoths and dinosaurs (what!?) or whatever they eat.
After riding for 2 or 3 hours you will come out of the national park and arrive
in the little town called Hrensko. Here they a market and they have very
interesting stuff which I won’t spoil here. You should come and see for yourself
what they sell and you can see the Elbe river and the beautiful sandstone formation.
Here is the border crossing from the Czech Republic into Germany. And
then again the Elbe river. And from we are at the German side. I’m having my
lunch there which is some chicken sandwiches with cucumber slices and also some bananas.
After 1 hour I continued my ride towards Bad schandau.
Here is the old town of Bad Schandau. I’ve never been here before and it’s very pretty.
In this clip we see a ferry crossing so you could choose to take your bike with the ferry.
You have to bring your bike to the jetty and there’s no path there.
So in my case I went further up the road and took this bridge to cross the river so
we could continue our journey towards Königstein. Königstein is a fortress on top of a hill.
I didn’t stay long at the town of Königstein. There’s cafes and places to eat. If you want to.
But since I’ve had my lunch so I just continue along the river.
For me personally I find that this bike path which is called the Elberadweg is one of
the most beautiful bike paths there is in Germany. So you should come and try to
cycle once n your lifetime here. You’re only sharing the path with other cyclists
and pedestrians. There’s places to rest along the way and you won’t regret coming here at all.
I skipped ahead so as not to spoil the entire journey for you guys because you guys have to
come and see the bike route for yourself right? So here we are. We arrived at
the beautiful city of Dresden. So this is me cycling on the
path towards the city center. What I just zoomed there is the collapsed
bridge. The bridge collapsed in 2024. There was a whole scandal about it.
I arrived at the city center in front of the Frauenkirche.
The church of the lady? I got lucky and there was a
concert which is happening. This is like a very european
you know. (wow very cultured) After an hour in Dresden. I decided I’ve
had enough culture for today and I hopped onto a train to get back home to Zittau.
But I realized there’s still sunlight. So, I jumped off at Arnsdorf and I really
glad because I got to see this beautiful sunset from this hill. And OMG this road is very
beautiful. It’s empty. There wasn’t any cars at all and there’s flowers alongside this road and
there’s like a farm. The sunset was heavenly. This is a sausage vending machine.
You can also buy meat products here. This is the bischofswerda train station. It’s
a normal train station but I wanted to show the sunset actually before I boarded the train.
This is me sitting inside the train. It’s already nighttime.
I arrived in Zittau at around 10 pm. I hope you like this travel report thingy.
We’ll meet again some other time. Goodbye.
