Migrants Get Bike Lessons at 4★ Hotel!

In this eye-opening report, we visit the Preston Leyland Hotel, a once-popular 4-star Best Western, now completely off-limits to the British public. For the last three years, this hotel has been operating under a government contract to house illegal immigrants while locals are priced out of housing and struggling to access basic services.

Taxis wait outside to shuttle residents to GP appointments, while an active health team is on site, teaching migrants how to ride bikes. They also have staff from South Ribble Council helping them get housing in the local area.

Once a place for British families and business travellers now yet another symbol of a system that puts everyone else first.

confidence with these Okay She doesn’t need it She’s confident already Uh but yeah just trying to help these guys You know they’re all cooped up in the hotel Something to do for a bit Yeah Yeah Okay Yeah So is it is it Afghan families in there or is it different yeah Is a full range People from Middle East people from uh Far East Africa Yeah Quite a lot of different people Yeah Is it woman only hotel or is it mix no it’s men as well Men as well Yeah Yeah All the children you don’t see the children right now because they all go to school Okay Initially when they do come it takes a little bit of a while for the children to get you know to apply for the schools but they end up getting to school which is good So what else did the council do uh helping them and stuff well my team the active health team we we u get them outdoors just sports coaches So we go to all the different schools in the burough 42 schools and then we do different projects time to time For example this Yeah Yeah Uh but um but the council does a lot So we’ve got Sophie over there who’s uh who helps with housing people refugees immigrants So she helps a lot with their situations which is really good What she does I can never do What I do she can never do No offense to her at all But she not as good on the bike then no No not at all Yeah I’m a bike ability instructor as well which is what I do quite a lot with my job teaching kids how to ride bikes and stuff Yeah Same on the roads It’s good Well so you’re independent then independent We’ve uh we was in the area up up the road there right reporting on the the latest hotel to be filled with Afghans under the Arab scheme Got you Um trickle tickle trout Tickle trout Yeah Yeah Yeah Got you You is that under the same council the M6 now Yeah Off the M6 Yeah engine there Can you believe it you got council here One of them’s teaching them how to ride bikes and the other one is uh trying to get them housed in the local area still in there They’re not letting anyone out still Wonder why that is So yeah it’s a lovely day for it A lovely day for a bike ride and a lovely day to learn how to ride a bike at the Preston Land Hotel got council workers This is the health club part This wonder if they use this part still You all right mate all right You you the driver for these lock yeah Okay That’s not open I take it I have no idea Nothing to do with those unfortunately You have to uh they just book you guys on a private firm or something Yeah We just park here That’s okay So yeah cuz they had taxis out the front taking them to the GP So do you take them like further out or to No no we don’t do anything Oh No we just we’re just a separate holiday company that parks here Oh okay And that’s it Lovely uh gardens It’s down here All these beautiful hotels some bikes here Give you a quick look cuz you never know Someone says “Hey that’s my kid’s bike Look at this This is lovely.” And it’s perfect weather for it as well It’s about 26° right now Look at that Come out here and just sit in the sun with with a top gun Could have gave him an air freshener actually See if it’s local people Okay Okay Sure is interesting what you find at
