Hey guys, currently looking for a new bike and after weeks of searching i came across the 2 beauties, and im having a hard time deciding.

Here are the specs:

  1. 2022 Specialized S-Works Venge – Shimano Ultegra Di2

Specs & Upgrades
• Frame: 2022 S-Works Venge FACT 11r carbon
• Groupset: Shimano Ultegra Di2 (R8050)
• Crankset: Quarq power meter
• Wheels: Roval CLX 64 carbon
• Brakes: Ultegra hydraulic disc
• Drivetrain: 52/36, 11-speed
• Upgrades: Quarq power meter, CeramicSpeed OSPW
• Weight: ~7.5–7.7 kg (w/o pedals)

  1. 2021 Trek Madone SLR 7 Gen 6 eTap

Specs & Features
• Frame: 2021 Trek Madone SLR 800 OCLV Carbon
• Groupset: SRAM Force eTap AXS
• Crankset: SRAM Force, looks like with power meter but not sure.
• Wheels: Bontrager Aeolus Pro carbon
• Brakes: SRAM Force hydraulic disc
• Drivetrain: Likely 48/35T chainrings, 12-speed
• Cockpit: Trek integrated aero carbon bar/stem
• Weight (est.): ~7.8–8.1 kg (w/o pedals)

My biggest concern is the weight difference. I really love the looks of both, maybe prefer the Trek. I am also not 100% sure if i prefer riding mountains or more flat. I live in Innsbruck, so plenty of mountain passes around my home. Its hard to ride flat here. Overall just curious of your opinions 🙏 Thanks in advance

  1. Canyon endurace with basic groupset and take two months off work with the money saved

    Venge every time.

But if you ride hilly routes an aero bike is kinda wrong tool for the job

  3. Dont know. Need drive side photos.

Venge will be stiffer. The Madone, more forgiving. In my experience. I’d probably go with the venge myself, but both are sick.

I don’t understand why Europeans want Specialized or Trek bikes. They are so common here 🙄

  5. I feel that for me to get the trek, I should get it for free, plus monthly payment from trek in order to carry that logo arround. It’s like riding a billboard.

  6. Definitely the Madone, but I’m biased…

Honestly if all other things are equal, I think Sram AXS is a better system than Shimano Di2.

  7. I actually like the SRAM E-tap a lot…That saying I haven’t used the Shimano Di2 but I do have Shimano Ultegra and I still like it a lot. I think that both frames are very nice. The Carnbon comliance would be nominal.. That said how they feel when riding them is purely subjective. Both will be pretty quick and responsive. Both are also pretty expensive. The Modone is light enough that hill climbing would be fine. If you are pro maybe that would matter but both bike are really nice….I also prefer TREK over Specialized but I think I could be happy with that S-Works spec’d like that. I have a TREK but ride a Canyon Ultimate SLX because the Cost was right and it rides Beautifully

Looks for a used Spez Tarmac SL7. Has enough aero benefit, but will be far better suited to the mountains around Innsbruck

I’m a huge Trek fan and would do the Madone every time, but I will admit I prefer the SRAM group and the Venge is better looking… You can’t really lose

OP, what are the prices? I’d take the S Works Venge, but that’s why if the prices were very close. That said, did the Specialized have its steerer tube cut – because that stem looks slammed. That’s a very aggressive aero position – so, you might want to check fitment/comfort before you decide on either one. If prices are close and the S Works fit is good for you, then I’d go with the S Works.

Whichever one has handlebars wider than 40cm. That means it’s safe to ride.

Neither. Get a Italian bike. Colnago, bianchi, Pinarello, It doesn’t matter, they are all better

If you live at altitude with a lot of climbing I would go for neither.

I would be looking for a climbing bike. Something like an Aethos or an Emonda, if you have your heart set on a Specialized or a Trek. The Bianchi Specialissima is a cracking climber too, as is the Storck Fascenario.

  14. As much as I love the Trek Madone, I’d go for the venge. The logo on the Trek is too obnoxious to get over for me personally…

  15. Neither, I wouldn’t be blowing money on high end racing bikes with aggressive geometries if I wasn’t even sure what kind of riding I like.

Moose people are better off with all-rounder like an Endurance bike. Hell buy a really nice endurance bike If you have money to burn…

Get the bike you like to look at. That said, I prefer the classy look of the Venge. I could see the TRAK logo from space.

As someone mentioned, the Venge looks slammed. Make sure the bike you like actually fits you.

  17. I know it’s not these, but it’s very close to Innsbruck https://stelbel.it/en/

Well, the second one is hideous. Maybe not the most important decision factor, but it’s not nothing.
