Hi! I'm looking for a new road bike. I find these two Canyon models very appealing. They're also a good price. I'd like to get another Canyon, as I already own one and am very happy with it. I prefer the design of the Ultimate, but I find the Aeroad somehow cooler.
I'm (I'd say) an average rider, around 65 kg, and I usually do tours between 30 and 120 km. What do you think? Do you have any experience with it?

Which color(s) do you like more? Can you afford the more expensive Aeroad? SLX is a better spec but shouldn’t persuade you towards paying more if you do like the Ultimate’s looks more. Both are great options so don’t sweat it too much just go with your gut!
Aeroad: lighter, faster, cooler
Aeroad 10 times out of 10
fwiw I’ve seen people say the current Aeroad frame is very comfy and light, while also being aero. There’s really no selling point for the Ultimate unless you really like the way it looks.
The aeroad is even lighter than the ultimate… Btw you can get the aeroad in white aswell
I’m here to argue that they are essentially the same bike and you pay 200 euro more for 320 grams less bike.
The ultimate is sold out and wont be coming back (new spec in summer)
how’s that a question 😄 what the
Aeroad all day
I bought the Ultimate a few weeks ago. I noticed that some comments mention the weight, but if you look closely, you’ll see that the main difference comes from the saddle. Simply by swapping the saddles between the two models, you can save 210 grams. Additionally, if you check the Ultimate’s product page, you’ll see a note stating that the bike may be shipped with a different saddle, so there’s also a chance you might receive the lighter one.
Apart from the weight issue, some users who own both the Ultimate and the Aeroad say that the Ultimate feels more responsive, while the Aeroad is more comfortable. So, at this point, the main differences come down to looks and ride feel. Also, the Ultimate can fit slightly wider tires—up to 33 mm compared to 32 mm on the Aeroad.
As for my own choice, I’m still not sure if I made the right decision. When I ordered mine, the price difference wasn’t just €200, but €800, if I remember correctly. The previous Aeroad had different wheels, different brake rotors, and even a power meter. So, at the time, I was convinced I made the right choice, but with the current price, I’m not sure if it is the right one.
Is that a new colour on the aeroad?
