[Music] time trial day on the tour to Swiss well it was pivotal the year prior but this 88th edition it had magnified importance gaps there were but gaps could be made up podium places of course were up for grabs the honor of winning the final time trial alfip who’s really dialed back time it seems here could he do it again and could Almeida take the vault forward that was denied him the year prior and take the golden jersey off the shoulders of Kevin Vocal just 10 kilometers to achieve that feat and progressively more difficult throughout this entire stage a short one but certainly wearing and as they set off this was going to be a true test against the clock the race of truth then alexander Vassoff our king of the mountains man well he used to be a great climber who didn’t time trial well and it’s kind of flipped over on its head there yes king of the mountains but king of the hills I think you might say here he’s been in the brakes almost constantly and got the crucial points he needed on the Queen stage super job for him not a stage winning we understand but certainly a place in our hearts lassoff is exhausted a job very well done as it has been for Finley Pickering riding for Bahrain victorious and living up to the billing short of stature but massive on power and a big personality in cycling as well he was outstanding 20 seconds down on Sweeny’s early benchmark [Applause] well the weather has been kind to us and a man from down under where the sun shines almost permanently we believe Ben O’ Connor certainly bright in this race superb he was in the run to Puro and a fantastic time trial was going his way as well clever man always speaks sense and today his legs went loud once again ben O’ Connor coming very very close to Sweeney benchmark it looked all antibodian at this point well Barta also producing a fine run nudging up onto the stage podium at this point but really all eyes were being cast down the start order until the very last and then the big names the big hitters started to arrive felix G has been outstanding in the mountains favorite for the day well determinedly within the top five but it was all about the day itself and the Austrian was outstanding trimming a mighty 16 1/2 seconds off Harry Sweeny’s benchmark and indeed just pedling on and it looked like he was in monster mode second half of the course belonged to him nearly a minute and a half and Harry Sweeney himself acknowledging what a great effort that was then the man who was carrying the Young Riders classification jersey set off Oscar Onley almost an award-winning name you might say and he’s certainly found a place in our hearts and he was looking of course for a podium spot very good time trials especially in this kind of scenario this was strong felix Gal was our leader but Only nearest man to him and possibly just possibly moving on to the podium itself allefi was wrestling the bike said he started the day with bad legs something’s been very much absent on the opening day a fourth place meant that suddenly he was in the battle for the overall and he fought valiantly throughout Ellip and then Xiao Arda himself setting out on course would you believe he actually caught Alfalipe out there at 2-minute margins they were vocal had a cushion of 33 seconds before the day began could he would he hold on or would Almeida make the steal setting off sprinting and cutting every single apex off the corners was Vlair he knew the task at hand he was out there alone said he didn’t like it shia himself trimming just under a second of Felix Gal’s time and then investing an awful lot in that diesel run to the line that he’s so characteristically famous for kokai himself 21 seconds had gone from his 33 second cushion with the hardest part of the course still to be had this was Almeida catching Alfalipe out on course so that was 2 minutes to the goods and this looked like it was going to be not only a stage winning performance the clock stayed green upon him but the shoulders turned from black to gold brilliant work meanwhile out on course the brave vocal was still doing a job a 33 second cushion turned into a yawning gap of a minute and 40 second place for Voca super brave and an amazing title redemption I think you might say how many times have we said that this year for Sha Armea he took the day he took the title took a place back in our hearts as well after a disastrous opening stage he made this race his own with a permanent battle throughout all terrain to make sure he was in gold at the end stage winner and of course our champion as well winning the points likewise shallomeda wins the tour of Switzerland by a margin of a minute and seven over Kevin Voca on it onto the podium and what a podium it was young faces fabulous legs and a great race to boot the tour of Switzerland never disappoints and this one of the classic editions of all time with an amazing champion to boot
