After getting a free new drivetrain with Shimano’s ancient recall last year, I made it a point to spend as little as possible to get this moving. Naturally, sike.

Original handlebars were too far for me to ride comfortably, so they got replaced. Planned on keeping original brake levers, but them brittle plastic thangs broke when I was changing the cables out 😂

First time choosing cantilever brakes over the always recommended vbrakes (in my no more money spent approach), and they were so fuss free I might join the canti-forever club.

Now I feel like Billy Bonkers are needed, but these no-name tires are actually pretty great. They’ve stood up to a few trips where my husband had to pull thorns outta his tires. So it’s probably just my FOMO speaking, so I’ll wrench a diff bike while this one is structurally sound and sized perfectly for me. 😂

  1. It’s too late. You got the tan grips, so you’ve already started down the slippery slope. You need those Billy Bonkers. If you look around you can find deals on them.

Looking good. I don’t subscribe to v brake supremacy nor cantilever supremacy. I’m all about using what’s in the bin and fits on the bike (some frames lend themselves more toward v brakes or cantilever set ups) and also need a special stem or one of those headset or fork mounted housing stoppies for canti

I see you have the color matched Honda/RockHopper combo! Haha me too! Burgundy Honda Pilot/RockHopper here. I’m really itching for the tan DTH myself…
