Cala Gamba is a small beach located in Es Coll d’en Rebassa neighbourhood in Palma. It is close to a yacht club and is frequented by fishermen.

A lot of people can be seen doing some sport and walking all along the way.

The promenade connecting ‘el Arenal’ to Palma is very close, visited by those who practice sports and locals having a walk.

Cala Gamba is the name of the small bay and yacht club in between Playa Ciudad Jardín and Es Carnatge.

The narrow area of sand measures 70 metres long and 5 metres wide. It’s perhaps more popular with fishermen than swimmers.

There is a jetty which makes it easy to embark on kayaks and small boats.

The seaside promenade and cycle lane, which begins at Porto Pi in Palma, passes beside Cala Gamba.

To the east of the beach begins the biosphere nature reserve known as Es Carnatge. It is one of the most important quaternary paleontological deposits of the Mediterranean.

The geological formations and fossils found here have enabled scientists to understand coastal variations over thousands of years. There are also military bunkers and old sandstone quarries in this area.

The stylish Mediterranean hangout, Purobeach Palma, is situated on a rocky peninsula 3km to the east of Cala Gamba.

The sea views from the club are stunning and include La Galera islet where Phoenician remains have been found.
