Welcome to another week in the life, on prep for Ironman Tallinn in Estonia.
A packed week of swim bike run, with the highlights being some solid interval work on the bike, an open water full ironman distance swim, and a big old weekend of 100km + on the bike. With a cheeky Sunday 24km long run around Battersea Park.
Stopped by at the VIA Crit on Saturday at Coal Drops Yards, and celebrated a lovely friends birthday. Beautiful.
Always a pleasure, never a chore my friends. I am a bit exhausted tho.

what’s going on team welcome back to episode two another week in the life on prep for Iron Man Estonia and a very happy Monday to you all it is an absolute beauty of a day and we’ve got a 10 by 2 minutes session on the bike just waiting for some of the boys to turn up postwork let’s get it i tend to not always have time after work to have something to eat so I’m just going to have 50 gel before we head out there she is trusty steed [Music] so a mistake I made on Saturday was I didn’t put enough mix in my bottles that’s probably why I bonked each scoop has 30 g and I think I only put one and a half lessons learned we’re ripping another pair of these Sun God shades today the McLaren edition yeah the boys oh mate how many watch you save with that white decals white bars oh I’m ready to ready to go good to see you how you doing boy yeah good how are you bro i reckon he’s still faster than you i’ve got hairy legs though oh no yeah we need to get rid of these so we got a full skin suit and then Nike socks so the plan try and find somewhere nice and flat so we can hit the 10 by 2 minutes uh I actually can’t remember what w they’re at but my call us will tell me but yeah lovely day for it to get stuck in welcome to Marlo what a lovely little place [Music] welcome to episode 5,03 of Gregor struggling on the climbs and riding with riders 20 kilos lighter who are nowhere to be seen in the death zone easy minute between reps and we’re holding 300 W eight reps in such a nice evening feeling like a good effort not too hard sweet spot as they call it that was unbelievable i’m now heading to see Physio Meg sorry got bar dairy milk in my mouth i’ve not even had time to shower so sorry Meg but she trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu so she’s probably used to dealing with sweaty people all the time say hello hi she’s busy me and her adorable dog guess what the name is you want to tell it this is Piglet but we we call her Pig pig she’s adorable look at this for a setup incredible this little geyser not geyzer little Missy yeah so Alex had a visitor come to the gym today mhm that’s a manager of this band and that rounds off Monday my friends tomorrow we’ve got 10K in the morning and an open water swim after work see you then there’s nothing exciting about what I’m going to do now it’s just 10k easy unbelievable weather this morning i do feel really tired though anyway let’s get it done that’s one way to start your morning potentially one of the most exciting days on the road to Iron Man we’re now off for a TT bike fit one of my colleagues from work who used to race Iron Man said that he had one sat in his garage not been used at all so we’re going to go see if it fits me and potentially that could be the bike that I’m riding in Talon let’s go how we feeling big fella pretty good all sold out how we feeling feel boy looking the part oh yeah it’s under pressure two loops mate two three loops two Phillips let’s go boys looking strong your left is looking good after work i got you brother next cheers sir so absolutely buzzing with that swim felt pretty strong uh throughout 3.8k or 3.5 on the watch but we’ll take it full distance Iron Man swim on a Tuesday night after work and now we’re going to get burgers does it really get any better than this we’ll see you tomorrow hello and welcome to Sheffield happy Wednesday we’ve got a track session today intervals you might notice I’m wearing full on kit i am a very proud ambassador for on shoe wise we’re repping the on cloud booms which are their carbon ratio absolute rockets so not much else to say let’s get into it the session is a 2k warm up 8 minutes at 4m minute ks 4 minutes at 350s and 2 minutes at 340s set one done sat just below pace so I’m going to try and push it to the next set just on the cool down session done set two went a lot better so happy with that any time we rest up and this week it’s a premier in i quite like premiering well would you look at that prime i’m going to go for dinner and then probably crash out so I’ll see you tomorrow won’t only see you tomorrow but we’ll see you bright and early for a 6:00 swim at Pawns Forge well I’m up now so may as well go we’ve got 4 by 500 m so just 2K so nothing too terrible but I just want to go back to bed i just realized I’ve forgotten my towel this will be interesting the whole time it felt like I was dragging a double-decker bus behind me so yeah not the best swim in my life but at least it’s over and I can have breakfast i honestly don’t have anything to report i’ve just spent 3 and 1 half hours in the car um and I’ve just picked up some dinner i’m going to make like a katu curry but genuinely nothing to report so we’ve got a nice little day planned for tomorrow i’m off and that’s about it chef Ramsey mate good morning team happy Friday i finally slept more than 7 hours last night which is a huge win i’m off to meet someone called Sam who I’ve been introduced to through Instagram who’s like a photographer videographer who lives where I live so we’ve got 2 hours easy on the bike going to go a little cafe ride and we’re up for a big weekend i really don’t know how much I’ll film because I’ve never met this guy in my life but hey he’s a photographer so I’m sure we’ll probably film something anyway beautiful day this is Sam the mad man’s training for an ultramarathon but looks like he’s a bit of a demon on the bike [Music] home of the famous Henley Riata pop well they spell them i definitely won’t be switching careers to being a barista lovely what was this one uh that was a sourdough muffin sourdough muffin and a pistachio cream cookie that is quite nice pretty sure so I’ve just got back from a Friday morning 2our easy ride wasn’t that easy normalized power of like 230 W but these things happen the good news is I’ve just had a phone call from the bike shop and the parts have arrived for the front end of the TT bike so went for a fit on Tuesday it wasn’t quite right um things had to move just forward a little bit to get the position right so parts have arrived i’m going to go check it out fingers crossed we’re going to be leaving the shop with a TT bike so I’m going to try and film when I get in there but imagine I am sat on bike um it looked like I was just a little bit like close like hunched back and they just wanted it to be like forward a little bit more so it felt good well like it felt really unstable actually but I’ve never ridden a TT bike before um but the guy said there’s like techniques and stuff with your shoulders anyone knows that please let me know so long story short I’m very excited wait wait wait wait wait look at this look at Billy the dog he’s having a little nap around when you’re in the road you want to make sure that you’re not shaking some breakfast for the morning got pottage oats have some Nutella and peanut butter ooh honestly not too much has happened today picked up the TT sorted out the coffee stand and all the fuel and stuff life admin good morning and welcome to Saturday we’re on the way to Richmond Park and we’ve got a 4hour ride with two hours of Iron Man power today yes sir we’re back again good how you feeling yeah six out be here at 8:00 it’s 20 to 9 sorry boy good job man you’re looking sick my guy what’s happening yeah this is hard run me run me through the 50 oh got a little rougher patter oh beautiful some rougher bib shorts and yeah I run out of white socks i mean the criminal wearing black socks what about the bike what we reckon uh comes a bit loyal um I wanted to get like a little custom spray paint job but we didn’t have the funds for that so stickers not that offensive yeah quite quite quiet man i’m not camera trained you know it’s been a while i didn’t realize you got a YouTube channel now yes sir the old There we go now watch me whip n good fella hm not not a bad fellow not a bad fellow no he’s a good fell hello sir right man you’re short they’re all so short yeah they actually I rolled them on what was your rating of it last time um what did I rate it 8.7 nice respectable oh my god oh what the hell what the hell [Music] tell me about your lovely hat it’s actually from the RNLI i Sunday it’s not a rest day today and we got 24K to do well this is Emil yeah a little bit rough um but birthday tomorrow oh yeah sunday birthday tomorrow yeah that’s about all we have to say lots of drinks were consumed last night i only had one free run fuel joined by the one and only Matty Boy at Lockdown Bake House welcome to Pari Park for Sunday’s long run edition 24 kilometers with my boy Yo currently 4K in feeling all right feeling all right let’s get it done we’ll have some of that cooked to perfection me not the watermelon you look at that another huge weekend of training on the road to Iron Man eight weeks out from the race trending nicely and we’ve got Wales long course weekend friday Saturday Sunday next week so we see you then for episode 3 adios
