My Favorite Country to Cycle? Slovenia Was a Total Surprise!
After 4 intense days riding across Italy, I entered Slovenia through the stunning Julian Alpsβand it instantly became one of my favorite countries to cycle in.
I followed an old railway path full of tunnels, rode through green valleys, stopped for osso bucco at Lake Jasna, and made my way all the way to Ljubljana before escaping into the countryside again.
This episode captures quiet gravel roads, mountain descents, local food (yes, I’m obsessed!), and the peaceful charm of a country I wish I had more time in.
I covered over 800 km in 6 days. Slovenia was country number two on my 3,000 km solo bikepacking adventure from Bologna to Copenhagen. Next stop: Austria!

Favorite meal? Bread, fresh tomatoes, burrata, basil oil, and cold Slovenian beer.
