Some of you have been following my work on this project and I really appreciate all the encouragement over the last 5 years. Here is my final iteration of the rear Rak-Lok – a stainless steel rack with integrated u-lock holder. In now ready for production on the rear rack. The front version needs one more iteration. Will be launching the Kickstarter in a few weeks after I get back home to California. peace and grease!

Take my money.
Soo good
Great idea
Nice rack
Okkkk
It’s nice to see people making stuff or whatever but why this? Why not just have a normal rear rack and put the lock in a pannier? Or just strap a lock to the top of a normal rack.
Also, who’s using long ass u locks like that?
That’s an amazing solution to an age old security problem. Well done!
What if my u lock don’t fit
My. Dear. God.

Absolutely amazing! I think I would personally prefer a narrower version, maybe without the side extensions. Plus I would miss a light mount at the rear of the rack, but I see it’s got little mounts so that would be a simple diy job. Great work and I’d love to own one one day.
This is so cool, and seemingly so well thought out, the two parts of the ULock dont rattle inside one another though?
Does it rattle much?? That’s always been my bugbear. Rattly f’ing locks
Does it rattle? I hate rattles
I’m so confused as to how this works do you need to take it off to lock the bike or is it for locking cargo to the rack?
No it just slides out when you unlock it.
Yes please!
Looking forward to the kickstarter!!
I’m sorry, it took FIVE YEARS to get that made?
I kinda want to hear that story.
Pure Gold, need that
Maybe because my kroptonite lock is over a decade old, but did they change the design so there’s not a little bend and the end of the U leg that goes in opposite the locking side? I guess I can just google it, but my brain can’t comprehend how it would go into the rack otherwise lol.
This looks great. Best solution I’ve seen for U-lock storage. Have you tried the rack with panniers attached? My bike is my grocery hauler with two ortliebs and I’m curious how compatible they would be on a rack with ‘wings’.
Love it. Mad this hasn’t been done before. You deserve to do really well.
Well done! 🫡
Be sure to put a post up with all the kickstarter info… as this is awesome and I want one!
