I’m looking at a new bike. I have previously had a Scott speedster S10 XXL from 2013, which I found was a little to long for me – I felt stretched out on it. It was however a good entry level bike for me.
I’m 190cm tall and weigh 103-105kg. Inseam is about 85-87cm ish. I will ride 2-4 times a week between 40-100km. I will both be riding alone or with friends.
I’m either looking at a new Giant defy from 2024 for 3750€ with 105 di2 or a used emonda SLR project one with ultegra di2 from 2023/2024 for around 3900-40000€.
Don’t know if it’s worth buying used – and the used bicycle marked here in Denmark is through the roof.
I’m also open for suggestion on other bikes – I like a “all round” bike with both speed and comfort.

So as far as geometry the new Defy will be more stretched out an on the more aggressive side of the endurance bikes. The Roubaix is more of an endurance geometry and the Trek Domane is the most upright of the three. The Defy has a similar geometry to the Cannondale Supersix which I’d prefer over the two.
What kind of riding are you going to be doing? If it’s just for fitness and fun, personally, I’d get the Roubaix SL8 and put 40c Pirelli Race TLR tires on it. Roubaix and Domane will be more comfortable than a Defy.
In the Defy geometry category there are bikes I’d prefer like the Supersix I mentioned or a BMC Roadmachine, Cervelo Caledonia, or Pinarello X series.
Owned a Defy, own a RoadMachine. Defy over the Trek 100 times over.
