There’s no way to fix that that I am aware of. I would love a solution as I still have a BMZ battery on my (hubby’s) 6-speed.

Looks like dust has caused abrasion, due to vibration. When you received each of the first two replacement batteries, was the bag frame for the battery also replaced for each battery ? Considering the abrasion wear on the back of the battery, the frame latches and touch points would have had some wear as well.
Tire pressures, 65 to 74 psi will provide some shock absorption when riding over rough pavement. If the riding environment is dusty, wiping the battery mounting points clean, each dusty ride, should help.
