I’ve got a b’twin triban 520 flatbar and I wanna change to bigger tyres, preferably 32 or even 35 because of the roads I usually ride on aren’t that great and I’m not sure if I could fit them, for reference I’m running 23’s on it atm

Did you measure the gap?
Idk dawg, measure it
The chainstay is usually where you have issues, not the seat stays or fork.
>The 410mm chainstays give a (little) bit of extra room for bigger tyres (the bike will take up to 32mm rubber, or 28mm tyres and mudguards)

Probably not getting 35s on there. Chain stay gap is important as well, in addition to how well the tire ends up working with the brake arch while braking. You might manage 28s. 25s are a definite. If you know someone with a 32 laying around you could try that. You might be surprised how much difference there is going to a 25.
Looks like you have plenty of space, 32 maybe, definitely 28. If you have friends with 700c bikes, try their wheels, you don’t have to ride them, just put the tyres on.
https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/road-bikes/btwin-triban-520 suggests that the specs say the frame will take up to 32mm. I’ve seen other reviews suggest that the stock brakes may not be as friendly to larger than 28.
Even 28 would be a huge upgrade, but I’d probably aim for 32 – that’s what I run on my bike and they’re generally pretty great.
