I bought a hardtail a few months ago and wanted to get into mountain biking because my friend does it. Now I want to upgrade my bike to handle the trails better. Sadly I only have like 300 usd to upgrade it. It has a straight head tube, it has 24 inch wheels, and 3 gears on the front and 6 on the back. The shifting recently hasn't been working due to a bit of rust on the shifter line thing so I'm gonna buy a new shifter set and maybe pedals cause these don't have much grip. I've also noticed the brakes could be upgraded to disc brakes on the back but not the front. Any way i can make it compatible on the front? So what can I do to make this hardtail better for the trails. Also it's a huffy rock creek 24.

No amount of money is going to make this a good trail bike.
Sell it or throw it away and get something else.
Is there any way I can convert this to full suspension, as bad as it will be
