Give them a test ride (standard for buying bikes) and see if they ride and shift well. As long as these will encourage you to get out and ride, $100 is well worth it.

The trek 800 was their entry level rigid mountain bike in the 90s. I had a new one in 97 or 98, I paid $200.
My son also converted a curb find into gravel bike
Both Look like entry Level Spec bikes. You surly have to Invest in some fresh Tires, chains, brake Blocks.
But 50$ Esch and maybe Investment of 100-200$ for each you will have 2 nice bikes.

At that point, they might as well go to Walmart or some other department store, and get brand new bikes…
those are both decent bikes. the diamant ist a good, solid bike. quality made in germany. the trek falls in the category vintage mountain bike. reliable, functional for your purposes. you can’t go wrong with it. worst that could happen: if don’t like the bikes in the end, you make better pictures an easily resell ’em for more than 100 bucks each. 😉

100$ is a really good price for 2 bikes, but I don’t think it is possible to calculate it’s condition by looking at photos. You should check it yourself.
