Hi! Recently, I decided to upgrade from my cheap Walmart mountain bike that I have been using as a commuter. Since now I work at a bicycle shop, I have been thinking of buying a new bike, specifically gravel/city and from Specialized. Since I'd be buying it from my store, I have a discount. I found one that picked my interest and I really would like for anybody to tell me more or give me other economical suggestions to look at from the brand that would be good for commuting and casual riding. Thank you!
This is the bike.

  1. I like the sirrus more than the other big brands in this price range.

They do have an issue with brake squealing so you might be prepared to replace the brake pads sooner than later – about $20

600-800 is a good price point for a commuter bike. any bike at this price point from the big names (specialized, giant, trek) will be a worthy upgrade from ur current gear. i went from an 80’s schwinn to a $800ish giant escape disc and man is it smooooth.

get yourself a rack, some fenders, and a set of lights and youre golden!
